Korenix releases High-Bandwidth Wireless Access Point for reliable surveillance networking applications

11 March 2010
Korenix has released the JetWave 2450 IEEE 802.11b/g/n complaint Outdoor Wireless-N Access Point to provide supercharged speed, range and performance for the most demanding high-bandwidth wireless surveillance networking applications.

The cost-effective JetWave 2450 with up to 150Mbps data rate connection by high throughput 802.11n technology allows you to extend wireless coverage up to 5KM with reduced roaming between APs and stable video stream transmission. With dual antenna design, wireless clients can flexibly deploy the device for their specific long distance line-of-sight applications and/or extend transmission by overlaying multiple radio signals.

Combining advanced management and security features to the rugged IP65 design and -20~70oC operating temperature range, the Korenix JetWave 2450 becomes the ideal solution for expanding reliable wireless video traffic transmission in harsh outdoor environments.

High-Throughput & Enhanced Wireless Performance by 802.11N
With the ever-increasing demand of high bandwidth applications, such as storage and video in the long-distance outdoor environments, the network performance is becoming more essential. The introduction of the Korenix JetWave 2450 IEEE 802.11N Wireless Access Point answers the growing business' need for access, speed and security. With its latest Wireless-N technology, the JetWave 2450 is capable of ensuring triple higher data rate transmission with the increased speed and outstanding performance upgrading the existing wireless surveillance network to provide more capacity and enhance coverage. The access point, backward compatible with 802.11b/g standard, also allows connecting 802.11n, 802.11g or 802.11b wireless devices to the wired network so that it becomes possible to add PCs to the network with no cabling hassle.

Dual Antenna Design for Flexible Installations
The Korenix JetWave 2450 wireless AP is equipped with a built-in 8dBi directional antenna to provide long-distance line-of-sight transmission. Besides, users can benefit from the N-type socket for external antenna integration, to attach high gain and wide directional antenna for extending wireless data coverage in length and width throughout networks.

No boundaries between Security and Management
To protect your data and privacy, the JetWave 2450 supports Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and the Wi-Fi Protected Access™ (WPA and WPA2) for encoding all your wireless transmissions with powerful encryption. The MAC Address filter further provides secure access to the wireless network.
For providing outstanding wireless performance, JetWave 2450 wireless APs support spanning tree protocol to avoid loop storm, QoS (WMM) to prioritize classes for different applications, IGMP snooping for multicast stream filtering and NTP for network time synchronization.

All of these features in addition to the built-in 12VDC PoE, combined into the Korenix JetWave 2450 Wireless N access point provide a powerful wireless solution offering extraordinary flexibility, highest data rates and the ability to deploy a wireless surveillance network in severe outdoor environments.

Key features of JetWave 2450 are:
* IEEE 802.11n wireless outdoor solution, backward compatible with 802.11b/g
* 3 times higher throughput than 802.11b/g solution, up to 150Mbps net data rate
* High performance and low maintaining cost for the video surveillance network
* One model with both Embedded 8dbi Directional Antenna and N-Type Socket
* Up to 5KM Wireless coverage
* Wireless QoS (WMM) for video precedence transmission
* Advanced security system by WEP, WPA, WPA2 and MAC address filter
* Supports Spanning Tree Protocol, IGMP Snooping, SNMPv3
* Built-in 12VDC PoE, to be powered through Ethernet cable
* -20~70°C Operating temperature for hazardous environment application
